Our Story: How Two Minds, a Sunny Day, and a Big Idea Came Together

It all started in the summer of 2016, under (what we think was) a gloriously sunny Norfolk sky. Mark was running a leadership workshop at Centrum in Norwich Research Park, dazzling participants with his facilitation skills—according to his version. Danny remembers it slightly differently: less sunshine, more business urgency. Either way, their paths crossed, and sparks of collaboration began to fly.

Soon after, Mark became Danny’s business coach, and Danny joined one of Mark’s peer groups in Norfolk. These groups brought together brilliant minds and world-class experts, offering game-changing tools and insights. But here’s the twist: implementing all that wisdom in real life? Surprisingly hard. Cue lightbulb moment.

By late 2021, they decided it was time to fix this problem. Together, they founded MyBigSky, an online learning platform designed to make peer group learning accessible, repeatable, and genuinely useful. No more leaving workshops thinking, “That was great—what now?” MyBigSky lets learners go at their own pace and revisit insights whenever they need them.

Over the next two years, the dream started taking shape. Sixteen learning modules were created, world-class experts were filmed in a Norfolk studio (where the weather was definitely less sunny), and comprehensive documentation was crafted to complement the video content.

By 2023, the modules were ready for action. Peer groups and online cohorts tested them, and the results spoke for themselves. With glowing feedback and a clear mission, Danny and Mark committed to scaling MyBigSky to new heights.

But every epic journey needs a secret weapon. Enter T.E.A.M.—The Expectation Achievement Model. After months of head-scratching, coffee-fueled debates, and a few dramatic “Aha!” moments, Danny and Mark cracked the code. Inspired by the genius of Karl Friston’s Free Energy principle and Iain McGilchrist’s work on the brain’s left and right hemispheres, T.E.A.M flips the traditional business script. Instead of chasing empty metrics, it helps businesses focus on what really matters: giving people the ability to have joy and meaning in their work and the ability to fulfil expectations that are right for them.

Now, MyBigSky is scaling up across the UK (Danny’s home turf) and Brazil (where Mark has set up shop). They’re on a mission to shake up the business world, one expectation at a time.
