MyBigSky Founders Journey: How Two Minds, a Sunny Day, and a Big Idea Came Together

It all began in the summer of 2016 where the MyBigSky Founders Journey started, under what we fondly recall as a gloriously sunny Norfolk sky. Mark was leading a leadership workshop at Centrum in Norwich Research Park, captivating participants with his facilitation skills—at least, according to his version of events. Danny, however, remembers it differently: less sunshine, more business urgency. Regardless of perspective, their meeting sparked a collaboration that would evolve into something transformative.

Soon after, Mark became Danny’s business coach, and Danny joined one of Mark’s peer groups in Norfolk. These peer groups connected brilliant minds and world-class experts, offering invaluable tools and insights. But there was a catch—applying this wisdom in the real world was a challenge. This led to a pivotal realization.

By late 2021, they decided to solve this problem. Together, they co-founded MyBigSky, an online learning platform designed to make peer group learning accessible, repeatable, and truly impactful. No more leaving workshops with great insights but no clear next steps. MyBigSky empowers learners to progress at their own pace, revisiting crucial insights whenever needed.

Shaping The Future

Over the next two years, the vision took shape. Sixteen learning modules were meticulously developed, featuring world-class experts filmed in a Norfolk studio—where, this time, the weather was decidedly less sunny. Comprehensive documentation was crafted to accompany the video content, ensuring an immersive learning experience.

By 2023, the modules were ready for real-world application. Peer groups and online cohorts tested them, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. With a clear mission and strong validation, Danny and Mark committed to scaling MyBigSky to new heights.

But every successful journey needs a secret weapon. Enter T.E.A.M.—The Expectation Achievement Model. After months of deep thinking, spirited debates, and countless cups of coffee, they cracked the code. Drawing inspiration from Karl Friston’s Free Energy Principle and Iain McGilchrist’s research on the brain’s left and right hemispheres, T.E.A.M. flips traditional business strategies. Instead of chasing arbitrary metrics, it shifts focus to what truly matters—helping people find joy and fulfillment in their work while achieving expectations that align with their personal and professional growth.

Today, MyBigSky is expanding across the UK (Danny’s home base) and Brazil (where Mark has set up operations). Their mission? To revolutionize the way businesses and individuals achieve meaningful success—one expectation at a time.
