Problems Behind the Problems

Our Purpose:

To help 20,000 small businesses outperform their competitors in terms of people, prosperity & planet.

What will you get out of the Program?

Our 1-year programme, "Problems Behind the Problems" program will help you in 3 key areas:

1. Work on the deeper issues that you face, e.g. stress, demotivation, lack of self-confidence, which in turn can cause multiple additional issues like:

  • not setting goals
  • not managing your people
  • not facing up to a problem

2. Build the capability of you, your team and your business so you can compete with anyone in the marketplace irrespective of their size

3. Allow you to build a world for yourself that you want to live and work in, your own Big Sky

What are the specific outcomes we're after for you:

  • Module 1: Self-Development - 'I am developing myself towards my full potential'
  • Module 2: Self-Belief - 'I believe in myself and my future possibility'
  • Module 3: Behaviours - 'I understand my behaviour and its impact on others'
  • Module 4: Motivators - 'I understand my motivators and their impact on me'
  • Module 5: Employee Engagement - 'I engage my team so they achieve more'
  • Module 6: Accountability - 'I hold myself and others to account'
  • Module 7: Action Plan - 'I have a plan that is being executed'
  • Module 8: Well-Being - 'I am looking after my well-being'

Who is this Program for?

Our program is for leaders of small businesses, whether you are an Owner, MD, GM, People Manager, in the Leadership Team, who are committed to:

  • Growing and developing themselves
  • Making a positive difference to their teams and their business
  • Learning with the online program for 2 hours a week
  • Continuously applying their learning until it becomes a habit

This is NOT for leaders who:

  • Don't want to change
  • Think the problem is everyone else's, not theirs
  • Think they don't have any time spare to learn
  • Think this is entertainment or an intellectual exercise

Why do I believe this Program will work for you?

Becoming a leadership coach, I imagined leaders would want help with functional work like finance, strategy and marketing, however, I rapidly discovered my clients need more personal and emotional help, e.g. understanding themselves and their people, finding a purpose for their work.

I have worked with over 100 business leaders over the last 7 years and using the "Problems Behind the Problems" program, I have seen my coachees progress in the following area:

  • Resolve issues that have held them back for years in their work and in their personal lives
  • Grow to become formidable leaders who can grow their team and their business
  • Define a new work life for themselves, one which fundamentally fulfils them

What is an example from the Program?

How do we understand our own as well as others' behaviour?

Think of all behaviour falling into 4 colours where we all have 1 natural dominant colour:

  • Those with a Red dominant colour are Competitive, Demanding, Determined, Strong-willed, Purposeful
  • Those with a Yellow dominant colour are Sociable, Dynamic, Demonstrative, Enthusiastic, Persuasive
  • Those with a Green dominant colour are Caring, Encouraging, Sharing, Patient, Relaxed
  • Those with a Blue dominant colour are Cautious, Precise, Deliberate, Questioning, Formal

How could you use this example from the Program?

Next time you go to work, think about someone you are going to work with and ask yourself what dominant behavioural Colour do they have?

Think about how you might adapt your behaviour to suit their Colour

  • If they're Red, be more direct and focus on the results
  • If they're Yellow, be more persuasive and get excited with them
  • If they're Green, be more supportive and listen more
  • If they're Blue, be more precise and ask questions about the detail

You're not changing your own Colour's behaviourial style, you're adapting to get the most out of that person. How did it go with them?
